About Our Organization

The Louisville AIDS Walk was founded in 1993. It is Kentucky's largest fund raiser for HIV/AIDS. Dozens of volunteers are working hard to make the seventeenth anniversary of the Walk a huge success. Funds raied at the event ensure those in need continue to receive the food, medication assistance, housing, emergency financial assistance, housing, counseling, legal assistance, transportation to and from medical appointments, educational / healthy living / life skills workshops, a monthly fellowship dinner, spiritual retreats, support groups and other support services provided by a diverse group of local non-profit organizations. Since it's founding in 1993, Louisville AIDS Walk has had an overall expense rate of only 11%. We are a 501(c)3 Public Charity so all donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our organization, officially AIDS Services Center Coalition, doing business as Louisville AIDS Walk, was recently reviewed by the Better Business Bureau's Charity Review Service. We are proud to report that the BBB has determined that we meet all 20 of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance's Standards for Charity Accountability. Click here to see our profile page on GuideStar where we are have been verified by their 'Charity Check' program. Thanks to the generosity of our business sponsors, every cent raised through individual donations and fundraising events goes directly to direct client services! Get a team together with others in your organization, church, school or business. Get members of your family to walk with you and help you reach your fund raising goal. Volunteer to help produce the event. Sponsor someone who is walking. It's a great way to spend a late September Sunday afternoon, and most important, the men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS in our community need your help! We need your support! We urge you, your friends, your family and your coworkers to get involved in the local fight against HIV/AIDS. Come and walk alone or with a buddy.
